Hello everyone,

So I was hoping someone could help me potentially fix my computer. Right now my computer sometimes crashes and gives me a BSOD stop code:CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT, but sometimes it doesn't blue screen and just freezes my computer. I would assume that both these issues are caused by the same thing, but I am not completely sure obviously.

I attached the SysnativeFileCollectionApp right after it blue screened because I figured maybe that would help. The perfmon report I couldn't get to output a report so I couldn't upload that with it sorry in advance!

IF you need any other information from me let me know because I would love to solve this problem.

· OS - Windows 10
· x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64 bit
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 8 and immediately upgraded to 10
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Full retail version
//· Age of system (hardware) - Varies since I built my computer personally.
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? OS was installed slightly under a year ago

· CPU - AMD Fx - 6300 Six Core Processor
· Video Card - ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX 960
· MotherBoard - Gigabyte ATX Socket AM3+ AMD 970 Chipset 2000MHz DDR3 SATA III 6Gbps Ready AMD 9 Series FX Motherboards GA-970A-D3P

· Power Supply - Rosewill 550-Watt

//· System Manufacturer
//· Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom)

// Not sure what this actually wants from me. Sorry!

· Laptop or Desktop? Desktop

Your UEFI/BIOS (version FC) dates from 2015.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  This is just in case there has been a more recent update.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

Although you appear to have a reasonable number of Windows Update hotfixes for this version of your OS, please double check for any new Windows Updates.  It only takes one update to cause a problem, so it's essential that you have all of them.  The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Lot's of problems with RzStats.Manager.exe in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report.

It's possible that there could be a hardware issue with your Razer device(s) - please uninstall the Razer software and physically remove the Razer device(s) from your system for testing purposes.

Feel free to reinstall the latest compatible version of the Razer software (and use the device) if that doesn't fix your problem.

Alright so UPDATE:

I updated the BIOS to the most recent I could get which was one in 2016 and I also uninstalled Razer Synapse from my computer like you suggested. I also checked to make sure there were no other windows updates and found nothing to update. As for the last part when you said physically remove the razer devices from the computer which would be my mouse and keyboard. Does this mean you want me to disconnect it completely and not plug it back in and see if it stops the freezing? I removed it and plugged them back in for now in case that's what you meant, but I wanted to make sure. The razer products are my only mouse and keyboard I currently own so I don't have any other choice to browse my computer with and that would be the reason I didn't permanently disconnect them, but I will if that's what you want me to do. Anyways, I left my computer running for the last 10 hours to see if I ran into any problems with BSOD or the computer freezing with mild activity usage. The BSOD hasn't appeared since doing the suggestions above although they were rare to begin with. The freezing has happened once or twice; I can't exactly remember at the moment, but it definitely seems much more manageable than before where it was happening multiple times in a row for long periods of time. The freezing before would either last for long periods of time, restart my computer like a BSOD or essentially make me hard restart my computer. Although I haven't tested when joining a social call between me and friends on Skype/Discord (etc.) because that seemed to be where it use to be more prevalent. I will submit another file collection after another freeze if that will help. Of course that assumes that it will happen again. I will also test when using my computer in a gaming setting aka on a social media app like skype/discord (etc.) while simultaneously playing games and post another FileCollectionZip file when I get the time. I have work in a little so it will have to be tomorrow at the earliest.

Alright so I have two more log files. The first is after a small freeze on my computer. Freeze lasted about 5 seconds and I started the File Collection between 5-20 seconds after the freeze. The second one is after a restart of my computer without a blue screen and the File Collection was started as soon as my desktop loaded. Attached File  SmallFreezeSysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip   1014.17KB   1 downloadsAttached File  RestartSysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip   998.55KB   1 downloads

As a part of the troubleshooting, you should disconnect the Razer mouse and keyboard.

As using a computer without a mouse and keyboard is difficult, I'd suggest getting a spare mouse and keyboard for times when you're troubleshooting.

As you don't have one now, we'll have to skip that step (and hope that the keyboard/mouse aren't the cause).

The Sysnative files aren't very handy for troubleshooting freezes.

Generally we use the Admin log file from Event Viewer to see about freezes

The Admin log file is a compilation of Critical, Error, and Warning events from many of the Event Viewer logs - and when we look at them in the .evtx format, we're able to look for patterns related to the freezing (and the unexpected shutdowns are usually listed as Critical events).

If we need the System or Application log files to look at, they are in the Sysnative output - but they're in text format, so we can't sort them like we can sort the .evtx formatted log files

Please wait for the next freeze, recover from it, and immediately generate this report:

Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on the "Administrative Events" heading
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:

SpeedFan v. 4.5.1 and later (free from here:  http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php ) can log temperatures in a CSV file:

To make it work you have to do BOTH of the below:

1. Enable logging in general: Configure...Log...check "Enabled" then click on OK to save.

2. Enable logging for specific checks: Configure...Temperatures..left click on each sensor, then click on "Logged" at the bottom of the Window (for our purposes we want them all) then once you've selected "Logged" for all sensors, then click on OK to save.

The log will be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\SpeedFan

Naming: log files are named SFLogYYYYMMDD.csv, where YYYY is the year (four digits), MM is the month (2 digits, zero padded) and DD is the day (2 digits, zero padded). If a file already exists by that name, the file that already exists is renamed according to the following naming scheme: SFLogYYYYMMDD-CCCC.csv, where CCCC is a increasing number. The new file is then created with the standard file name scheme.

Notes: whenever you change the options related with logging, SpeedFan starts a new log file.

NOTE:You may want to turn logging off when we're done - as I don't know it's impact on performance or on the system.

Here's the last memory dump (from the 23rd).  It's essentially the same as the other STOP 0x101 errors.  It shows hal.dll in the stack trace, so we have to wonder about hardware/compatibility/low-level driver problems.  If all of the hardware diagnostics pass, then try running Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http;//www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Well my cpu seems to be having a problem from the looks of it. I monitored the temperatures and my 2nd is averaging about 66.5C and 3rd is about 56.6C with the Core at 50 something C on average. So the shut offs I would have to assume to be caused from that. I added the log file in here in case you wanted to read it for yourself. I also did the freeze recovery file in case there is something else that is causing issues.

In general, temps in the 60's won't cause shutdowns.

The uploaded temp log looks OK to me.

There appears to be hard drive/controller problems just before each shutdown.

Please run these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html
Start with the hard drive diagnostics - I'd suggest using the Seatools test as it includes a controller test in the long/extended test.

Okay so I ran some of the hard drive diagnostic test so far and they the ones I ran seemed to do alright. My two drives SSD and Hard Drive both found no problems running a long generic test on either one. I used the SeaTools for Windows because I didn't have a spare CD to burn at the time. I can run the CD one if it is more in depth if you would like. The second test I ran was a FurMark GPU test and the first I let just sit there with the burn-in setting as well as dynamic background and let it go to 100000 frames and it sat at 69C-70C for the video card with 100% usage and the fan was at 73% while maintaining 45 fps. I also ran the preset:1080 and got 67C 100% usage and fan percent I can't remember. The fps was 42 though. I uploaded a picture of the SeaTools and FurMark benchmark in case you wanted to see. I haven't gotten to the other ones yet, but figured I'd give you some kind of update in case it takes awhile to get to the rest.

Alright so I ended up just assuming it was my cpu so I went ahead and cleaned the tower as a whole again to the best of my ability to make sure it wasn't the problem as well as applying thermal paste to the cpu. Well it has worked out so far. My computer hasn't had the freeze problem at all or the random shut downs so I assume that must of been the problem. We'll see what happens over the next few days, but for now my problem has been solved. Thank you for all the assistance you were giving me and have a nice day!
