When I try even to check for updates on my computer it will just sit there saying it's checking, but not move any past 0%, even though I've left it on all night and half the next day trying to get it to do so. So I figured the least I could do to try to protect it was keep my virus protection up to date, but when the virus protection tried to download an application patch it never was able to do it, it just kept sitting there trying to download and restart my computer. Other than these problems my computer runs well, I think considering it's about 4 or 5 years old. I just really hope someone can please help me fix this problem, because it's very worrisome.

P.S. I almost forgot to add that I get migraines quite often, so please forgive me if I don't answer back right away.

- Yep, it's the usual "Windows Update" problem. Try if these instructions help.

Willy22:

I followed the instructions completely, and I still have the same problem. I guess it's not the same old same old, it never is with me, for some reason I'm very unique that way.

Boopme:

I think this is everything you asked for, please let me know if you need anymore information.

Have you run the Windows All In One Repair Tool Yet?

Did you recently install Windows Live?

I don't believe I've run Windows All In One Repair Tool, and I don't think I installed Windows Live recently either.

You see we had a recent tragedy in the family and the last time I was able to successfully do updates was sometime in April. So now my computer is rebelling from being neglected for so long. Can you help me tame this rebellious beast?
