Running Win-7

When I view Google Maps, the roads are almost same color as the background.

I've played around with monitor settings, which helps somewhat. Is there any other way to make the roads have more contrast with the background?

Most other map sites are the same, with exception of Map Quest, which has one line (black) roads against light background.
