Hello,

i've been having repeated problems with my PC, with it either failing to boot properly, hanging at the logon screen, not loading the desktop properly or just having BSOD's everytime I get into some high RAM usage. I'm on Windows 7. The zipped files requested are attached.

Operating System - Windows 7 Ultimate N 64-bit SP1 x64
 - full retail, installed on custom PC.  date of install 03/12/2014

CPU - Intel Core i7 4790K (i think mobo is running it at 4.4 GHz)
GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970
Mobo - Gigabyte Z97-Gaming GT
PSU - Corsair RM650W

Custom Desktop build.

- other points of note- when the PC hangs on logonscreen/crashes for a BSOD - there is a loud buzzing noise.

All help is very much appreciated,

Thanks,

Vishmister

Only 284 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most systems with SP1 have 350-400 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

You have 3 hard drives.  What is the age of your Power Supply?

These devices have problems in Device Manager:

XBOX 360 Controller For Windows    USB\VID_045E&PID_028E\0000001    This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.
StorLib bus (virtual storages support)    ROOT\STORLIB\0000    Failure using the VxD loader.

Please uninstall the XBOX 360 Controller and then physically remove the device from the system

As for the other one, please search your system for "storlib".  It's most likely storlib.sys and is most likely located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers

Right click on it, select Properties, and look through the various tabs for the manufacturer of the driver.
Once found, locate that program and uninstall it.

In the event that you can't find it, simply uninstall the bad device from Device Manager

Many, many Live Kernel events in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report

Along with multiple different BSOD error codes

Some of these error codes are also, primarily hardware issues.

As such, a hardware problem is very likely.  Please start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

In the event that they all pass, here's a procedure to help identify other hardware problems:  http://www.carrona.org/strpdown.html

MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner (along with EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys).  Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting.  Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Gigabyte On/Off charger has been known to cause BSOD issues on some Windows systems.  Please uninstall it.

Finally, Corsair Link has been known to cause BSOD issues on some Windows systems.  Please uninstall it.
