I open Internet Explorer Once Everything a OK I close Internet Explorer and REopenit a Pop up Saying

"Warning Your COmputer may have critical errors in Windows registry and file system!

The registry and file system error lead to computer fcreezes, system crashes and slowdowns,
corruption of fiels and documetns

Imdiate system interfirty scan and repair is strongley recomened

to scan your computer for erros please click the next button below"

so I click Cancel to get rid of message it then installes System Doctor 2006 trojan so I wanted to remove it so I followed the usual procedures by using Eqido Anti Spyware (advises clean), AVS Antivirus (advises clean), Aol Sypware (advises clean), Spybot Search and Destroy (advises clean), Mcafee Anti Virus (advises no infections) , pander(advises I have 4 spyware and 1 potential unwated or hijacker tool and),bit defender (advises 3 infected files deinfection failed deleted all three files = 0 Virus) and Mcafee avert Stinger (advises 0 problems ), hijackthis have beend advised by microsoft to remove certain files done that, and still get this problem, even though i have mcafeirus and firewall as well as one for my adsl router, also i run scans weekly, and usally if it find anything it removes it and everythings a ok i then ran hikack this and removed the files and then also to see if it was attached to anyprograms i ran msconfig and disable diffrent products it pointed out ot free download manager so i remove this and i have emptied all my tempoarty cahce and internet fles and cookies etc... I then remove internet explorer and reinstalled it. That didn't work every time i want to open two windows in internet explorer it decided to launch this pop up window which then run system doctor installation and its geting me very :thumbsup:

My Operating System is: Windows XP PRO SP2 I am Running Microsoft Office :

I have even contacted microsoft to see what they say all they seem to say is do what ive done already done above and if doesn't work format hardrive (this is the last thing i really want to do but will do if this is the only option)

Any help greatley apprieated

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you. :thumbsup:

Let's see what we can do for you. I'm certain you won't have to resort to a format.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

=======================

Please download Ewido Anti-spyware and save that file to your desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
  • Once you have downloaded ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  • Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition files.
  • On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
    • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  • Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  • Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
  • Under "Reports"
    • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close ewido anti-spyware. Do not run a scan yet!

========================

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log.

Your hijackthis log doesn't show a thing, so we're going to have to get some more detail.

But on a last hunch, let's run Vundofix.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • [list]
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

=========

And now for the detailed log.

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
Posted Image If I have helped you in any way, please consider a donation to help me continue the fight against malware.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

Forgive me for being an idiot. :thumbsup:

Open Notepad, and copy everything in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixme.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4"!

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"NI.UWA6P_0001_N69M0303"=-
Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it. When it asks if you want to merge with the registry, click YES.

Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:
  • Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
  • Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
  • Click the "Delete Cookies" button
  • Next to it, Click the "Delete Files" button
  • When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content", click OK
* Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have Firefox installed):
  • Go to Tools > Options.
  • Click Privacy in the menu on the left side of the Options window.
  • Click the Clear button located to the right of each option (History, Cookies, Cache).
  • Click OK to close the Options window
    Alternatively, you can clear all information stored while browsing by clicking Clear All.
    A confirmation dialog box will be shown before clearing the information.
* Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin
  • Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
  • Let it scan your system for files to remove.
  • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
  • Press OK to remove them.
Update Java:
  • Click Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
  • Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )

    It should have next icon next to it: Posted Image
    Select it and click Remove.
  • The current version of Java can be downloaded from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Scroll down the page to 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 8' and press the 'Download' button. On the new web page, click the 'Accept License Agreement' button. Then select 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' in the Windows Platform area just below the Accept button.
Reboot and post a new hijackthis log.
Let me know how IE works now.

Please uninstall either AVG or Mcafee. You should not run more than one antivirus at a time.

Please post a new log from Combofix.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!
