Mod Edit:  Split from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/623528/ram-upgrade-question - Hamluis.

Sorry if I ask the wrong place, but I'm curious and want to know how you put them to work, all this RAM,  as you probably know, Microsoft has limited the max  RAM usage to 4GB and typically used up to two-thirds of this, not more.

Or I have wrong info?

4GB limit exists on 32-bit operating systems. 64-bit systems have much larger limit.

A 32-bit operating system has an address space of 4GB.

A 64-bit operating system has an address space of 8TB.

The address space is used by video, network, disk, and other devices.  For this reason a 32-bit will only be able to use ~ 3 to 3.5 GB out of the 4GB limit of RAM.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
