Hi all, I am using windows 8 in my laptop and Ubuntu in my desktop PC. In the desktop, I used to browse the internet by connecting LAN cable. and using WiFi on my laptop. I am using Acanac's unlimited internet plans in Quebec. The browsing speed is comparatively high in Ubuntu than windows 8. Is there any mechanism to boost the browsing speed in windows 8? I am not very familiar with Ubuntu. Most of the times I use my laptop to browse. If you have any solution, please put it here.

How about you throw us a few Mbps numbers Re: current download speed on your Laptop Vs Desktop.

Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test   is a good standard basis to use.

Click on the Blue link, and then only click Start (in the box), as it usually is surrounded by "not nice" Spam type advertising.  :nono:
