Hi!

I'm with a friend's PC that he use as a file and application server. Windows 7 Pro (French version) fully patched. He was having BSOD 0x0000001e as soon he try to go a network items related place: share, network browsing, etc. But he does have access to Internet with the server. I found that the problem came from the lanmanserver service the can't start: error 998 Invalid access to memory location. I try to do a in-place repair with a valid installation DVD of Windows 7 Pro, but the installation failed as soon as the file was copied. The guy who install firstly his server deactivate system restore so I can't go back in time...

He got, on is "server", some software that he paid for (NovaBackup v.12, SolidWorks, Sage accounting, etc) but he didn't take a service plan so he can use them, but can't reinstall them.

Have you an idea ?

Thanks a lot!
