So i bought this new computer, amd athlon64 3200+, 80 gig hd, 1g ram, 256 ram gdr3+ video. I bought it used, so i wanted to format it. I used a spare hard drive i had, plugged it in, (master in motherboard, very stupid of me, instead of slave) took data from the hard drive. removed my spare hard drive. put in my windows cd, restarted my computer, waited for everything to load, then the setup tells me i have no hard drive connected. i looked in the bios, primary no detected. went in windows...hard drive there, and working. by the way the hard drive is conected by sata2. my spare hd was connected with jumper cables. the original drive is not even a slave in the bios, it just doesn't show at all!!! the question is, what am i supposed to do to get the bios to find the hard drive, and put it in primary, so i can format?? been working on this for a week straight, need help bad!!

Did you unplug the computer before swapping the drives? I forgot to do that and got the exact same message. I had accidentally fried the drive (and the 3 years worth of data on it!).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
