There is a two-part firewall I've been using for some time now:

-- you are the most important firewall component there is

-- Windows 7 firewall is one of the best amongst several others

Quietman7 has a boilerplate post that lists some product choices and explains the features, benefits, drawbacks [if any] of said product choices.  He too will indicate you being the most important firewall component.
