  • Building it off of CyberPower. Want this to last for some time without having to upgrade it. I am going to order it in a week, just seeing if there's any helpful advice beforehand. Thanks for your help! I will be gaming, using Virtual Machines, and console emulators. Which is why I opted for the extra ram. But I chose the 2800 mhz instead of the 3000 because I didn't see a huge difference in performance for the extra $150. It's $3,000, but it comes with everything.

I'd make at least following changes:

CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i7-6850K Six-Core 3.60GHz 15MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011-V3 [+190]

Change to Intel® Core™ Processor i7-6800K Six-Core 3.40GHz 15MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011-V3

Makes no sense paying 190 dollars for under 5% difference.

FAN: Corsair Hydro Series H110i 280mm Liquid CPU Cooling System w/ Copper Cold - Extreme Performance [+84] (Dual (Push-Pull) RED Tt Riing 14 Series Case/Radiator Fan [+56])

I'd stick with air coolers. Effective enough and no worries about spreading water inside case.

VIDEO: GeForce® GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X (Pascal)[VR Ready] (Single Card)

Switch to AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 Video Card [VR Ready] (Single Card) [-375] [Back To School Mega Sales - Free upgrade from AMD RX 480 4GB]

GTX1080 is very bad card for long haul: poor DX12 support and very expensive. Also with monitor you selected, you will hardly notice any difference between GTX1080 and RX 480.

OVERCLOCK: Pro OC (Performance Overclock 10% or more) [+19]

To be honest. If you cannot overclock yourself (takes under 1 minute), then don't use any overclocking.

Vigor iSURF II Hard Disk Drive Cooling System [+21] (1 x System)

Useless.

Support for what he said^

  • SECURITY: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (Factory Pre-Install [Digital Version])

Useless^ They better not be charging extra for that. That particular anti-virus will make it very slow.

Also-

  • BLKFRISALE3: TP-LINK 802.11 AC Archer T1U AC450 Wireless 5GHz 433Mbps Nano USB Adapter [+0]
  • WNC: GIGABYTE 802.11AC Wi-Fi up to 867 Mbps + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo w/ Dual Antenna PCI-E Adapter [+29]

Two wireless adapters are listed. You only need one.

99% of the time, I edit for type-o's and grammar. I'll note it if that's not the case.

I write near essays for most my responses, and then try to condense as best I can to the introduction of one. Less is more. Let me know if I post to much.

I do a lot of spacing for readability. Let me know if that makes my posts seem to big.
