Slots...
(1) half-length, low profile-height, PCI Express x16

(1) full-length, low profile-height, 32-bit PCI 2.3 (5v)

For...
IBM ThinkCentre M58 Type 7360 SFF/SLIM Desktop CORE 2 DUO E8400 (3.0GHz/6MB/1333MHz) DDR3 4GB 160GB DVD+RW Windows 7 Ultimate

I saw an inatek brand (decent brand?) card that also had a gigabit Ethernet port. Would that give an improvement over the one on the motherboard?

Thanks!!!!

According to the specs  your computer has Gigabit Ethernet.

This USB 3 card comes with a low profile bracket. You need a free molex connector for additional power. The PCIex1 card will fit in your PCIex16 slot.
