Hi!

It appears as though my computer is freezing rather frequently while playing Star Wars Battlefront. This includes both BSoDs and the sound cutting out, my Corsair keyboard and Razer mouse stop cycling colors and I no longer get a response from any peripheral (the latter is far more frequent). I would estimate the frequency is close to once every four hours or more often. When playing movies, working or playing other games I have not experienced a crash yet but before I reinstalled Windows I did encounter the same problem while playing Overwatch.

Troubleshooting attempted thus far:

Removed several components that were previously in my computer including both an Inateck UBS 3.0 PCI-E card and a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy PCI-E sound card.

Reinstalled Windows 10 (clean install) on a new SSD

Installed the latest drivers I could find.

ASUS ROG stress tests around 30 minutes without a crash.

Here is my hardware:

ASUS Maximus Extreme VI

Intel i7-4790K

EVGA GTX 980

OCZ Sata III TRN150-25-SAT3-480G (OS and game in question resides here)

Samsung 840 EVO (previously)

2xSeagate ST2000DM001 2TB in a raid 0 (dynamic disk)

Corsair HX850

Corsair H100i

I have 2 displays connected most of the time and they are ASUS PB278Q

I appreciate anything you guys can do for me!

Only 1 memory dump in the uploaded reports

KernelDumpList.txt report shows only one minidump and one memory dump

Only 1 BSOD listed in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report

If you're having more than this one, then this might be a hardware problem.

As such, please start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 1302) dates from 2013.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

Only 7 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 10586 (TH2/1511) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

You have 5 hard drives.  What is the age of your Power Supply?

Corsair Link software used to have BSOD issues in some Windows installations.  I'd suggest uninstalling it to test and see if that helps.

Your Silicone Image USB device dates from 2010 (I wonder if this is a part of the Corsair Link software also).

It may not be compatible w/W10 - so I would suggest uninstalling it to test.

If using a USB audio device, please uninstall the software for it and physically remove it from the system in order to test it.

I see stability problems with USB audio often enough for it to be a concern.

Beyond all that, this is a STOP 0x124 BSOD.  Most often these are hardware problems - but they can also be due to compatibility or low-level driver problems.
Please start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html.

If they all pass, then start with this process to eliminate other hardware devices:  http;//www.carrona.org/strpdown.html

Excellent, thanks so much for your response! I am currently at work but this evening I will begin to work through your list of troubleshooting steps.

It will take me a few days to work through everything and test at each step but I will keep you posted.

So last night I only had enough time to update my BIOS and tonight I played for around 2+ hours and not encountered a single crash! So far so good. I will try and spend more time this weekend and post results.

Another update:

I have not had another crash since I updated my bios. I would like to keep this thread open just in case but so far so good!
