Keeps Disconnecting?

my connection keep disconnecting but i have full signal.
The wireless connection seems not to connect to the internet ( #comes up with "limited or no conectivity"), i click repair and it renews the ip address and works again(sometimes).
how can i stop it disconnecting? and why does it keep doing it??

windows xp
linksys wmp54g pci card
bt internet connection

How have you got your network setup?
Do you have a server?

try a firmware update on your router, if you need help doing this, please post back with your make and model of router and someone will post abck with a link. also another idea would be to make your ip static on your wireless card. this will help keep connection after small connection blips.

is set up like this - mycomputer/house mates computer > BT home hub wireles router > connected directly to hone line.

house mates computer works fine tho. would it be a problem with my linksys wireless card?

"another idea would be to make your ip static " - how do you do this?
