My CPU won't fit into my mother board

I have a ASROCK Z97 pro4 and i tried to put a intel i5-6500 in but the notches won't fit with the CPU

You are correct, it will not fit. Your board supports socket 1150 processors. Your CPU is an 1151 socket type. You will have to get a different motherboard that supports the 1151 socket type to run that CPU.

was just about to say that haha, that processor is socket FCLGA1151 and your board is LGA1150
