Hi all,

I just can't find a single instance of this issue I am having....not one!

My facebook chat has changed overnight! I now have darkish blue for my chat bubble, others' replies are grey bubbles and the background is white? The format looks like the phone design/colour scheme but this is on my lappy not through a phone. I appreciate you can change colours with messenger but I have never used messenger to change anything.

Also, the text in the chat window moves left to right very slightly when I move my cursor over it a couple of times, then 'settles' in position and stays there. If I go into another browser then back again, sometimes it does the same again??

Any ideas? Chat bar is fine & I can chat with everyone just fine also.

Same on all browsers.....not unning any unusual addons, didn't install anything recently........stumped??

Nothing feels like it has been hacked....running ESET & also Spyshelter installed since issue started.......

thanks

Could it be something as simple as they have made a tweak to the user interface ?  Some web-sites are well known for 'improving' their UIs  - Google come to mind here - without telling anybody.

As I don't use Facebook I can't offer a more definitive answer.

Sounds like you are accessing a cellular/low resolution version of the website. Can you include a screenshot so I can compare to my facebook?

Hi Trikein,

here is a screenshot of a chat window. Notice the much darker blue speech bubble, it's also rounded edges and the white background. I haven't/don't use 'purity' or any other extension for fb.....just totally standard. [/url]">http://image.jpg

Hi, thanks for replying.

Have you recently (in the last couple of days) connected to facebook through your phone? or do you only use your computer/laptop?

thanks

Have either of you tried accessing your account from another computer or device?

Also, try changing to another english speaking country (Like UK) from settings traingle > settings > languages.

Finally, try accessing your Facebook from a proxy.

I think Facebook changed how the chat window works and is slowly releasing it globally. Similar to what happened with Gmail chat but there is no way I know of to revert.

If Trikein is right, this is being rolled out world-wide the only solution is going to be 'get used to it'.

Yup, I can confirm my chat window changed last night. I think I actually forced the change to happen by switching from English(US) to English(UK) but switching back didn't revert. May have been a coincidence but either way, I think it is changed for good.

Hi Trikein,
