I don`t know whether anyone has issues with this and AVG getting rid of it and then putting it back? I think I found an answer and that is to

1: Delete the file with AVG then turn off AVG for 5 mins.

2 Create a fake file with the same name in notepad.

3 Make it read only

4 Put this file where the sppextcomobjhook.dll would normally be found.

5 Reboot and see if it pops up again.. mIne has stopped popping up.

Some say its Microsoft to blame as it came in an update in July .

Hope it helps

Thanks for the useful info YeOldeCodger.  Definitely got exactly the same message from AVG.

This has started only in july.

I don't know if it's related, but two things I've noticed:-

  • Windows 10 takes ages to load after I login.  This used to take 10 seconds max and now it takes approx 45 seconds.
  • I've started receiving lots of spam in my outlook.com email address.

Both of the above issues have started roughly around a month ago.

I've tried your technique, but only time will tell if it's worked.
