I own a Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 router and I installed a Canon MF229dw printer on my home network. The printer always went into paused mode and I couldn't figure out why. After 3 days of pulling my hair out I figured out how to fix this problem. I made a page with step by step instructions and screenshots on how to fix this. I hope this helps somebody else because I couldn't find any help online.

How to fix your network printer if your router constantly puts it into paused or sleep mode.

If you are interested here is the backstory.
My new network printer always went into paused mode and I couldn't figure out why. I thought the problem was the printer so I uninstalled/reinstalled everything but it didn't fix the problem. I went online and found other people had the same problem but nobody had a solution or explanation. After a few days I decided that maybe the problem was something in the router, not the printer. I couldn't find anything at routerlogin.net so I downloaded Netgear Genie and discovered that my router didn't recognize my printer as a printer. I changed that setting and I never had the problem again.
