Moving Folders from the Desktop

I have loaded a few folders on to my desktop as I was too lazy to put them on my hard drive and windows exploirer.Is it ok just to drag them over to another drive. I don't mean the personal folders such as My documents, My pictures etc.

it should be safe yes, the drag and drop is the same as copy and paste. :)
