Retiree from a profession. Initially technophobic the introduction of home pcs in the late 80's early 90's captured the attention of my kids. They took easily to applying it in various ways. I stayed away for a decade or so till reality in the workplace set in and I sliiped in to using computers at multiple work sites.

With pc boxes being ourtageously overpriced and under powered I learned to surf and grooved on the maturation of anandtech and similar sites. With my oldest going off to higher ed I needed to provide his own system for personal use. This sparked an itch to build a system from components. with number 2 son who was well  trained helping maintain a subsystem in his high school. Together we succeeded in getting a dual core motherboard system working for son number 1.

Since then my interest took off. To date I have built a a number of boxes for the children and families on several generations of microsoft operating systems. The bug is now one of my passions with my extending into tablets, refurbishing/upgrading thinkpads, etc. Software applications to media and audio, surfing protection and system security and malware removal occupy some of my time.

I am glad to join this vast resource of like minded folk.
