Hi All,

We've been hit by random ware. I've used the ID Ransom ware to try identifying what is the type of the file, but so far I haven't been successful. Examples of names are :

Lesson Plans 21 January.docx.id-24EFA94C.{payfornature@india.com.crypted (the original file name was "Lesson Plans 21 January.docx". I have the original files in some cases, but I haven't been able to decrypt anything - Tools I've tried like Kaspersky but it tells me the files have different sizes. (which is true).

If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to upload the files (both the original and the encrypted.

Thanks !

There have been other reports of this variant. It appears to be a kit most likely, allowing anyone to spin up their own version of it to distribute (thus the different email addresses). There is currently no way of decrypting files at this time.

If you can secure a sample of the malware itself for analysis, please submit it here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-malware.php?channel=168

Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in one of the related support topic discussions noted in the link provided above by Demonslay335.

To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.

Thanks
