@sikntired, I guess it doesn't pay to lighten up a little bit sometime but it's ok to let the technical world take control of our lives.

I'm just a simple cmptrgy and I know you are much more advanced than me.

We have excellent forums and expert help on BC so I'll just stick with that.

As far as upgrading to Win10 is concerned, I'm glad to see the end of upgrading Win10 upgrade hassles

Thanks to information here on BC, I have helped I don't know how many out of Win10 upgrade issues where I volunteer at our senior center

To any moderator, if this thread should be removed, that's ok with me.

Guess I failed to find the link given as lighthearted as was your intention. But if we all had the same "likes" and " dislikes" it would be a pretty dull world.

When Windows 10 and the "free upgrade" are mentioned I automatically cringe. The system is great in some peoples views and others think it is trash. And of course M$ has gone beyond, far beyond, being "aggressive" when it comes to this "free upgrade". Their nefarious tactics have more than "ruffled" a few feathers to say the least. So as you can see, I find  any mention of Win X less than "lighthearted".

As for being a more advanced user ......... that's laughable.

Believe me when I tell you that high tech gadgets will never take over my life. You see, I never got a cell phone until I was in my seventies.

@sikntired You hit the nail on the head alright: re "aggressive".

My upgraded Win10 runs fine: Personally I enjoyed the challenge

I'm not in the computer business but I like working on them

Where I volunteer I've seen too many mostly elderly people who had no idea of how to deal with Win10's upgrade methods being forced on them and I'm glad that's coming to an end.

Whatever Microsoft's plans are in the future, who knows

The free upgrade is over; now we have Anniversary Update out Tue. 8/2, and then Redstone 2 builds starting for insiders some time this month.  The boys and girls at Microsoft are still busy bees.

Make regular full system backups or you'll be sorry sooner or later.
