your phone should already do that.

it should already give you a notification and make a sound when you get a voicemail.

but if it doesn't:

http://appcrawlr.com/android-apps/best-apps-voicemail-notification

search through there and find one ya like

if you needed help setting it up, you should say so, all you asked was for a voicemail app.

i gave you a list of them to look through.

as i said before.

your phone should already do it

also, you don't need to be PC educated to install and set up an app.

9/10 apps will have directions.

Never heard of that phone, but you should just go to the app store and search for "voicemail"

then you will have to look at them, we can't do all the work for ya, you need to pick one that best suits your needs,

FWIW if anyone else has issues with Metro PCS and voicemail there is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metropcs.service.vvm&hl=en

Metro PCS Visual Voicemail.

I find it interesting that even Metro PCS told you it wasn't possible when they have a dedicated app...

But you're all good now. But it's there for someone who might search for the same issue.

You should not bet on it.

Using Android 4.4.2, I also found no setting option route for sound alerts to voicemails.  I planned to go through the settings on the device available here, but I found no pathway to any such voice mail sounds settings or options.
