I found a link to an article about staying safe on the internet by cruising through the University Information Tech. Services site at I.U. I thought I'd share it with the rest of you folks.

Here is a very brief excerpt.

How can you protect yourself?

* Limit the amount of personal information you post - Do not post information that would make you vulnerable...

* Remember that the internet is a public resource - Only post information you are comfortable with anyone seeing...

* Be wary of strangers -...

* Be skeptical - Don't believe everything you read online...

* Check privacy policies - Some sites may share information such as email addresses or user preferences with other companies...

Please take the time to read the entire"Cyber Security Tip ST06-003" at: http://www.us-cert.gov/cas/tips/ST06-003.html which contains many more internet safety suggestions.
