Its actually quite a fun game. Was crazy to see how many people would yell at you "Pokemon Go?! YEAH!!" while walking around my small town's main street. Haven't had much chance other than over the weekend to play it though... adult life.... lol

A group of 300 Pokemon Go players were pelted with water bombs in Sydney’s inner-west, after nearby residents grew tired of the gamers congregating outside their apartment buildings late into the night.

The fed up residents in Rhodes took matters into their own hands on Monday night when crowds of people began gathering at Peg Paterson Park – an intersection of three ‘Pokestops’.

Police were called on Monday and Tuesday night to disperse the crowds with some gamers claiming they were threatened with fines.

PS.

I think all players of this game should read this.

Nick, they actually just pushed out an update to that issue. It was also apparently only on iOS devices, and not Android. I ran the update the other day and they say, that they have fixed the issue.

Thank you QM7! I was interested to see what this "game" was all about so to be updated with what the media etc. were talking about.

There are numerous reports coming out warning users of the dangers. You have compiled a terrific list that will grow quite quickly no doubt!

IMO you are always looking out for our safety and I'm grateful. :flowers:

Honestly, people playing this game while driving... were also probably texting and driving. So basically they are just idiots. I don't get why people are not pay attention to where they are going while walking around and playing though. You don't acutally have to stare at the screen the entire time. You phone will vibrate when a pokemon pops up nearby. You then just stop and look at your phone and catch the pokemon. I guess some people just don't have much common sense these days.

The media is making Pokemon GO seem way more dangerous than it really is. People just need to use their brains and be aware of where they're going.

That is the problem. Common sense is remarkably uncommon !

I have some serious security concerns with this app.  The camera is ON on that thing, and the mic could as well be...  It can be a more powerful tool to map the world than the Google Street View Car, and for both inside and outside.  The possibilities are endless for criminals...

One thing that should be done is log the network traffic to see if more than a few bytes are exchanged with the servers.  Anything more than the Pokémon type and coordinates should be suspicious.  And then, having my location tracked to the second is definitely something I don't like.  For the Army though, they (can) have the perfect tool to track terrorists, and the ability to drop drone bombs with pin-point accuracy.

Conspiracy Theory???  Only time will tell !!!

That's just paranoia to its max! If you have a smartphone you don't need an app for the government to track you... all they need is the GPS signal. So the game is irrelevant to that.

I just tend not to think about it and enjoy things like this. If you start worrying too much then all the fun in life is sucked out.
