I tired like a dozen DVDs in Windows Media Player, they all do the same thing, only the previews will play, all other titles and chapters are grayed out and I cannot click on them! I have watched the same preview for the same movie 8 times now and there is no way to get to the actual movie in Windows Media player! I Googled the problem but nothing came up! How do I get past this road block?

Simple solution is not to use Windows Media Player.

Try VLC Player rather. It's free and will play anything.

I have Media Player Classic bundled with Klite Codec Pack that is set to open everything else, can it play DVD's?

Are your DVDs factory copies or burned copies? Will the discs play in your home DVD player?

I also use MP Classic with Klite, have for years, and it always plays every DVD I have or have borrowed from the library.

I'm not a big fan of VLC, but it is a capable player, & it may be worth a shot to install & see what results you get.

I used to use Klite too, but ran into problems with some codecs and disks, then I moved to Winamp. Sadly that ended (though it was an awesome player and still has great visualisations if you're into that), so I moved to VLC.

The other major thing I don't like about WMP is that it runs a native server process that chews up a load of resources for nothing. I uninstall it on sight generally.

They are factory DVD's, the one that I am most concerned about is Disc 1 of: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OQRU9YU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that I received on Wednesday. I just need to see the exact length of the first episode so I can DVD ripper it to be able to DVDVideoSoft Video to Jpg all frames to get a few of my favorite scenes
