Will the MSI Gaming 7 Z97A mobo support Turbo M.2? On Newegg it says it does at the bottom of the page  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130843&cm_re=msi_gaming_7_z97a-_-13-130-843-_-Product      but I cant find that info on the MSI site page.

Here is what I would like to use

  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813995046&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Accessories+-+Motherboards-_-N82E16813995046&gclid=CjwKEAjwzN27BRDFn9aAwLmH2yISJABWuEXcZP1zgvWAtQ23-yQ3DIJE9T2uNB9-U6HDUT28JfcDLRoC6_fw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Can anyone tell me if it is compatible?

Thanks.

It seems to be compatible. Not sure why you want to use that though.

Why wouldnt I want to use it? The m2 on the board is rated pci gen 2 x 2 The turbo plug is rated pci 3 x 4 would that still be compatible?

Thanks

Yeah, and if you put that turbo plug to PCIe gen 2 x2 slot, maximum speed is PCIe gen 2 x2 slot. It doesn't matter how fast turbo plug is because M.2 speed is bottleneck.

MSI clearly is screwing up something.

What other parts you plan to put on your machine?

Currently fast M.2 drives have overheating problems. I would wait for some time that technology matures. Paying high price for overheating SSD does not sound wise to me.

Also for just OS difference is not that huge vs SATA SSD's.

While that is not ultra serious problem, I consider high price+overheating not good combination.
