I am using this motherboard  MSI Z68MA-G45 (B3)     http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-Z68MA-G45-B3-LGA-1155-Intel-Z68-HDMI-Micro-ATX-Intel-Motherboard/252413349196?_trksid=p2055119.c100022.m2048&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122153519%26meid%3D1820dcc13a614084975ff6d2439002d6%26pid%3D100022%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D182181001863#shpCntId   Here is a link for it.  I want to put a USB 3.0 in the front of the computer case but this board has no usb 3.0 19 pin on the motherboard. If I use this  item   http://www.ebay.com/itm/391494287769?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT  Will I get usb 3.0 speeds from the usb 2.0 header on the motherboard? Or will I get usb 3.0 speeds from this item     http://www.ebay.com/itm/401140569569?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT   when plugged into the pcie slot and using its 19 pin header to connect to a front panel?

Thanks

Yeah that pci express card looks like it has a front panel connector

I would buy the pci card, ignore the cable.

Yes you can add the pci card and then use cables to run to a front usb panel but will it have usb 3.0 speed? It will be plugged in to a PCI 2.0 slot so will that provide usb 2.0 speed or usb 3.0 speed?

It should patch it up to usb3, so that a front panel unit can use the USB3 speeds so yes it will do as you want.

I am guessing you have a front panel connector in mind?

You need USB 3.0 compatible front panel to support the USB 3.0 speed

Well then yes you can get that PCE card and it will make things less messy for you.

I just wanted to see your setup first before we went on.
