Please Note : from personal experience I would proceed with extreme care before using

I encountered a cataclysmic melt down and needed to reinstall to properly fix my os

And for a very good music organiser/player......Nightingale

Info etc HERE

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nightingaleteam/nightingale-release
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nightingale

You can put your music folder on your desktop and simply drop mp3's or whatever straight into that folder.....and there is a setting in nightingale that has it scan your music folder each time nightingale starts....so it updates easily.

Ability to play multiple audio formats, such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, Apple Lossless and WMA

Multi-platform compatibility with Windows XP, Vista, 7, Linux and Mac OS X v10.5 (x86, x86-64).

it also has a browser inbuilt....which I do not use....I have no need for it....also has quite a large plug in and add on library....I have no need to use either.....YEMV
