Google Chrome's File Security Check Fail[ed]

Ever since using Google Chrome, many downloads, including ones from BC and other safe places, are stopped and this message is given:  File Security Check Failed

I can't even download Mother Teresa's web site's downloadables half the time.

I go to Firefox or msIE and download obviously safe utilities and programs without problems.

Question:  Is there any way to permanently disable File Security Check?
