I'm sad to be making another post on this forum. Today, I installed a few "critical" Windows updates. I should say I hesitated at first, then I installed them. Now my laptop fan is howling. I check Resource Monitor and TrustedInstaller is whining. I've already manually updated everything to date from this website: http://wu.krelay.de/en/ Any other ideas?

Edit: I'm going to try rebooting a couple of times. Sometimes that seems to help.

It did the first time I rebooted after installing the updates. Then I rebooted again (unprompted) and now it's gone.  (minus the smile)

If Trusted Installer - starts up again , let it run so it can complete what it has to do , once done it will go away.

Be patient and wait , if you still have issues re post.
