I am currently having trouble removing a worm from my computer. I ran HijackThis and it presented me with the worm "RBOT-UG WORM". This worm then allows malware to intrude and deactivate my security. I tried downloading and running Ewidos, but it failed at cleaning the worm off. Ewidos did however did clean off other malware such as a "wuauclt.exe", but without the worm removed, it allows it back on my computer.

Also, when I sign on to my computer, a pop-up box labled "generic host process Win32 system has encountered a problem"

And to actually click on the "My computer" Icon, it takes forever to render devices and drives. Almost as if it is searching for it.

here is a copy of my HijackThis log file :

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

Please click Start -> Run -> msconfig
Select the Startup tab.
Click Enable All
Click Apply and OK.

Reboot your computer when asked.
Please post a new hijackthis log.
Posted Image If I have helped you in any way, please consider a donation to help me continue the fight against malware.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report along with a new hijackthis log.
