I had a virus on my computer yesterday.  Removed using Norton.  Have since done a full virus scan and malware scan and computer is now clean.

Since then, in my start menu, when i go into all programs and select the software i wish to open, some folders are empty and some only contain weblinks (to readme files etc).

I have had an online chat with windows, and they were next to useless.

Without spending the time searching for the exe files and copying them into the empty folders, is there a way i can restore the folders.

Thanks

Roz

Do a System Restore.  Use a restore point dated prior to the infection.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search

Click/tap on Control Panel in the search box to open the Control Panel.

Click/tap on Recovery in the Control Panel, then click/tap on Open System Restore.

Click/tap on the Choose a different restore point to see all of the available restore points.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
