It only took three and a half months for me to screw up my new computer. This is what I have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220834

I am posting on my old computer which does not work very well.

The problem is this; Ever since I got the new computer Win. 10 (computer came with Win. 7) has been trying to install and I always refuse it. 2 weeks ago I fell asleep watching TV and left the computer on. When I woke up I saw that Win. 10 had indeed been downloaded without my permission but it had a window onscreen that needed me to accept/decline their terms. I declined and it told me that Win. 10 would have to uninstall and I told it to go ahead. After it uninstalled what it had downloaded I tried to get online and found that I cannot connect to the internet now.

Nothing I do connects me to the internet. I called Comcast and they tested lines and connections and determined problem was at my end. I have used a spare ethernet cable just to rule that out and I did several things the Comcast tech suggested over the phone but he was just ruling out Comcast as the source of the problem

What do I have to do to get my computer back? Bear in mind that the computer I am using to type this has a ransomware virus and I can't download anything and it runs like garbage.

I have tried several things suggested to me by techs at work but nothing I have done gets me online. When I click on links all I get is "this page can't be displayed" messages and everything I check says I have no internet connection.

Thanks for any advice.

Dennis

I took the computer to a repair shop yesterday and so far they have told me this: My MacAfee security firewall is what seems to be preventing my computer from connecting to internet. If they can't circumvent it they will need to remove it and I will have to reinstall it I guess. Wonderful.
