In my personal life a lot of people wanted to know why i had so many pcs.  well I had a reason when my pc use changed.  I kept my xp around to house all my music before my external took a dump on me and i lose all my music 5025 songs worth i cried that day,  i was able to recover some of it cause of a one of my heroes sent me a link on how to fix a recyclic issue with some of my disc, i dont have all my music back but a few disc full. I also used the xp to house my many many game FAQS.  Before my Vista belly up i was gonna use it for all my Emus and roms and my dedicated internet pc.  but that dream died with the vista specially since my vista ran all my ps 2 roms very well my current emachine cant do that.  so maybe one of these days when i get my nerd/pc room fully operational ill run across another decent running vista and grow my music collection again.  I still have all my emus and roms but they have taken a back seat to my emachine and my pc games...lol.  Good day thanks for letting me babble.

I can relate!  Going forward, I hope you have been making backups with whatever you have available and with whatever you trust.  Once years ago I made a format mistake and lost some material - using Norton Utilities for DOS's UnFormat and/or UnDelete - I recovered most but not all.  Yep, like you, I remember those early days like it was just yesterday!

ps:  Have you ever tried putting a cat into a bag?  :)  [I'm not even gonna try!]
