The most common causes of printer problems are associated with the printer driver software. Completely uninstall the HP printer applications - through 'Control panel - Programs and features' - and then re-install them.


Note that printers can be very fussy about the installation sequence, so check with the 'Quick start' guide. If you  no longer have a copy you can get it from the HP web-site and you can also download the latest drivers from there.


If that doesn't solve your problem, post back.
