After i have opend a mail, containing a word document, a lot of my files have the extension  MK-1 @ZL@DAVLf@ZL@ .pdf.zyklon. I cannot open these files.

In a lot of the directories containing thes files there is a document explaining that i have to pay €250,00 to make the files available again.

I do not want to pay criminals.

With a program called Shadow explorer i was able to rescue 15.000 files from the more than 90.00 files.

Also backups are infected. I assumed that saving a backup in the cloud was enough, but also thes are infected.

Is there sombode who knows if somthing can be done resolving this.

If more information is needed please let me know.

You can view the following topic for more information and ask any questions there.

As for the cloud backup, there should be a versioning system in place to restore files; most of the biggest solutions offer it such as Dropbox, Carbonite, CrashPlan, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.

Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the above support topic discussion. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.
