I set Firefox to the default browser (Windows 7 operating system), but each time I close Firefox, Internet Explorer becomes the default browser.  It was working fine on this computer for over 3 years now but has started doing this for the last couple of weeks.  Can anyone help please?

I went to "tools" - "options" and selected "make default".  Now, I can't even click effectively on "make default" - it seems not to be accepting my selection, because it stays on the message "Firefox is not your default browser".  A few days ago, it seemed to accept my "make default" selection.  This is messed up!
