Blank Screen, But Monitor Power Light Still On

:thumbsup: when i turn on the computer the screen turns on for about 3 seconds, then it goes blank...but the power light is still on. when i turn the monitor off and turn it back on, the screen shows an image for 3 seconds again... its so frustrating!!! what can i do? please reply i dont want to go out to get it fixed by an idiot who charges 100s...

When the screen goes off do you hear the fans still running?

Make sure your monitor cable is tightly connected.

Start in safe mode (tap F8 when it first starts booting)

Does the screen stay on in safe mode?
