This seemed to work for others

Remove the battery and cable

Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds

Replug cable and start

Hope you get your paper done!

I know you suggested you'd done something similar, but sometimes it takes a few try's or holding the power button longer maybe?  Won't hurt to try it again.

Hi

If You shine a flashlight on the screen do You see anything?

Are You getting the regular windows starting sounds?

Have You tried hooking up a external Display? FWIW I have several HDTVs that have computer inputs.

Also You say a New Dell, what did their support say?

Good Luck

Roger
