Linux equivalent for Adobe Aftereffects

I want use a video editing software on linux, which would be similar to Adobe Aftereffects. It should be FREE.

I'd say that it's hard to compete with a 200 to 5000 piece of software. There might be something else out there that has more options for effects. However,the only after effects like software that I have used is blender. As far as I know it's still free...
