I have tech service through the ISP I have. I noticed that Chrome was running kind of sluggish and figured, since it was there, I contacted tech support. The tech removed Malwarebyte, Super Anti-Spyware, Advanced System Care, two registry programs I had and Baidu browser and Baidu Speed up. He said almost everything could be done with programs already available in Windows 10. He tried to show me but he was so darn fast I could hardly keep up. I told him among all the programs only Super Anti-Spyware found 470 tacking cookies! He said that it was OK and they were harmless and I could access them from another Windows cleanup selection. Are all these programs that are 3rd party out there junk? When I used them I found so many problems, weaknesses and vulnerabilities. But to have them be deemed mostly useless, he did say MOSTLY useless, I am really confused. Been messing with computers for over 20 years and always used 3rd party Virus, spy ware and optimization tools regularly. Are they just programs that cue into certain functions of Windows and isolate them to make a program that is already in Windows but makes it sort of a short cut or are they really valuable? I am reinstalling a couple of things the tech deleted whether he liked it or not. As for the rest, I just don't know.

I would think that the writers and programmers of your particular OS would include such protection but I think it's kinda like guys in prison. They have all day every day looking for that one weakness in the system and exploit it to their advantage. No one would ever think of it on a peripheral inspection.

I know what I am going to do to combat all this crap. Set my old Gateway desktop with internet access and never let my lap top connect except to get updates. Even then, I am taking a risk! ARRRGH! You can't win!
