Just wanted to say 'Hi' to everybody. I've been using these here boxes of 'black magic' for well over 3 1/2 decades; switched from XP (which I'd been using from day one) to Linux, when it went EOL over 2 years ago.

Now a staunch 'Puppy' Linux user. Started with Ubuntu (what else?), but moved away when Mark Shuttleworth decided he wanted to be the Bill Gates of the Linux world, and decreed that Canonical should begin to drop support for older hardware.....which has always been the mainstay of the Linux 'ethos'. My ten-yr old Compaq desktop PC started to freeze at the slightest provocation after a few months (due to Ubuntu's Unity desktop requirement for 3d acceleration), so I looked around for something a wee bit lighter. 'Puppy' fitted the bill nicely.....and the hardware problems went away, just like that!

Still running an instance of Xp Pro, though.....just for the hell of it. Thought I could possibly give some advice, here and there, so.....here I am.
