Hi guys, I've been working at this for a long time and still no success. Let me tell you my problem.

I had FSX installed on a second hard drive which ended up dying. Because I was never able to uninstall FSX from my computer, windows still thought it was installed and so any time I used the dvd image to reinstall it, I was asked if I wanted to uninstall or repair; neither of which worked.

After a lot of searching, various tools and deleting anything FSX related from the registry, I discovered that it also installs files/registry entries containing game serial as well. Once I found and deleted all those too, I finally had my breakthrough that it finally would give me the option to install the game.

Now I am faced with one last problem. When I go to install it, it begins to copy over the files and then this appears:

I've tried some install cleaners from the Microsoft website but they made no difference.

I'm at a loss. Any ideas guys?

Your best bet is to ask in a good FSX forum like this one-

because they usually sort out peoples problems 9 times out of 10..:)
