Afternoon

I've been dealing with this issue for about 2yrs where i'm trying to extend my wireless signal i have a FIOS router in my basement and the signal is decent throughout the house but when i go to deck its weak or no connectivity at all. So i setup an old Linksys router with DD-WRT and thought i got it working but when i'm on the deck i'm still hitting my router in the basement not the linksys what am i doing wrong?
