Photos' GPS coordinates not showing

Right-clicking on photos' thumbnails and selecting Properties | Details isn't showing the photos' GPS coordinates.  Not just the data, but the data field itself.  And this is for every photo, even those taken on my own phone, with Settings | System | Location set to Location On, as well as photos taken with several of my friends' phones.  And the coordinates aren't showing in Picassa, either.  Why aren't the GPS coordinates showing, and how can I make them show?
