Hi all

I've been having a this problem for some time now but haven't found solution. I use a wireless keyboard with my laptop. If I hold the Ctrl key on the wireless keyboard in for too long it then becomes stuck. This is annoying when I play games or typing in MS Word. I checked the Sticky keys setting but its disabled. I've found that if I press the same Ctrl key on the laptop's keyboard it gets unstuck,so I don't think its the physical key that sticks. Just to be sure, I popped off the key and checked but it wasn't.

Recently I've noticed that the same thing now occurs with the 'a' key. And later I found that if I press the 'a' key on the laptop keyboard it stops but then the 'a' key on the wireless keyboard stops working. This is also happening with the Ctrl key now.

I came across a post on another forum that said this usually happens with Acer and HP laptops and that to solve the problem one has to reinstall the Synaptics touch-pad driver. I did this but the problem persists.

My Laptop is a:

Acer Aspire 5750G

Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.2GHz

4GB ram

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Genius SlimStar 8000x wireless mouse and keyboard
