Hi

I hope someone can help me, i ran sfc today and it advises me that it found corrupt files that it was unable to fix, from my limited knowledge it looks like its a windows wallpaper file?. When i looked at the file it was indeed corrupt so i copied the file from my other PC and while the pic now displays  correctly SFC still reports the error but i am not sure why?

have included the CBS logfile

kind regards

Daz

I've seen the message, but in my experience it's never been a problem.  If it's just a wallpaper file, I wouldn't worry about it.

 Good luck.

Make regular full system backups or you'll be sorry sooner or later.

You have a problem with the Windows Update components.  Go to Microsoft and use their Fix it to rebuild the components.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

You have several update errors with your windows.

Download "Microsoft Fix It" - Run it, and then reboot your PC.

Then open your CMD and type "sfc \scannow" - Once that's finished, reboot your PC.

Hopefully everything will be fixed.

If not, download Windows Repair.

Hi Dkentuk :)

According to your CBS.log, one file is corrupt and SFC cannot replace it because the source file in the store is also corrupt.
2016-05-16 21:12:39, Info CSI 00000340 Hashes for file member \SystemRoot\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-s..allpaper-landscapes_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_e57abb2f66db71a9\img9.jpg do not match actual file [l:16{8}]"img9.jpg" :

2016-05-16 21:12:39, Info CSI 00000341 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:16{8}]"img9.jpg" of Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Wallpaper-Landscapes, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch
If you want to actually replace the file, you'll have to find a good copy of the C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-s..allpaper-landscapes_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_e57abb2f66db71a9\img9.jpg file on another computer, copy/paste it on your system and run SFC again.

I doubt that Windows Repair AIO will do anything for you.

Replace your im9.jpg file with the file I will attach to this post.

Simply click on the image below and in the bottom right click "SAVE" and save it into this directory: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-s..allpaper-landscapes_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_e57abb2f66db71a9

DanieI, at the very least you should tell Dkentuk WHY he/she should do as you suggested and what doing so will accomplish.

Dkentuk, since your img9 file is broken, according to your CBS log, I suggest you replace your img9 file with mine since mine is perfect. :)

Actually, what you attached isn't the original img9.jpg (raw), but the picture that was resized and adapted to be posted here, so that file cannot be used to replace the corrupt img9.jpg file on Dkentuk's system.

Oh. I'll upload the image to an image hosting site then.

Here you go Dkentuk! :) Download this image and replace your "img9.jpg" with it.

Still won't work. Like I said, you need to upload the raw file, or it won't work. Just downloaded it and checked the B64SHA256 hash and it didn't match the expected one.
