Whenever I plug in my elgato HD capture device my pc goes to a blue screen. So what happens is I plug my elgato into my computer and open up the elgato software (Game capture HD) And it initializes (I think that is how you spell it) the elgato and 5 seconds later it will crash... I tried to re-install the drivers and the Game capture HD Software but it still does the same thing. Here is a link to a video of my screen when it crashes -

Please run this report collecting tool so that we can provide a complete analysis:  http://omgdebugging.com/bsod-inspector/
When done a Notepad document will open with the name of the file and it's location. (By default it'll be a .zip file located on your Desktop)
Simply upload the .zip file with your next post and we'll move on from there.

If it doesn't work for you, then please try this:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/

FYI - there's very few people who specialize in BSOD work - so it sometimes takes a while to get a response.

If I don't respond to your post within 48 hours, please send me a private message to notify me.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 0501) dates from 2009  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 276 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most systems with SP1 have 300-400 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Interestingly, all of the BSOD's point to the Elgato drivers - but a look at the WER section of MSINFO32 shows one was blamed on xusb21.sys (this was back in January).

Are you using a wireless USB XBox controller?  If so, please uninstall the software for the device and then physically remove the device from your computer.

This device is known to cause BSOD's on Windows systems - and there's no updated driver to replace it (you have to get another, more updated controller that uses the xusb22.sys driver).

Also, you have the ASACPI.sys driver that dates from 2005.  This driver is known to cause BSOD's on Windows systems also.
Visit the Asus support site for your system and download/install the latest ATK0110 ACPI driver for your system.

It's the 12th one down in the Others Utilities section on this page:  https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P7P55D_PRO/HelpDesk_Download/

Then monitor to see if it stops the BSOD's.

If not, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Which section of others? The one in my operating system list or the one that is in the operating system list because I can't seem to find it. Maybe if you just sent me an instant download link? Or is it Beta Version 0911 Because when I download that and open the zip file I can't install it because it says it is a .rom file and I can't open those?

Are you referring to the BIOS or the ASACPI.sys?

My mistake about the Others section - That should have read the Utilities section :(

On this page: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P7P55D_PRO/HelpDesk_Download/

Select your Operating System - the page will refresh and list these categories:

Qualified Vendor List

BIOS

Chipset

AUDIO

LAN

Utilities

SATA

Others

The ASACPI.sys driver (ATK0110 driver will be the 12th one down in the Utilities section.

You want Version 2101 of the BIOS.

Since the BIOS is so many versions behind, the common practice is to update only 2-3 versions at a time.
So you'd do:

- Version 0915

- Version 1207

- Version 1610

- Version 1807

- Version 2101

As this is a long procedure, please follow the directions in your motherboard manual for updating the BIOS.
