So i got infected with the Truecrypter ransomware, i tried to press pay directly. It told me decryption Status: Confirmed. Now decrypting...Successfully decrypted and showed me a list of encrypted files, but nothing got decrypted. So i restarted my pc and it tried to encrypt my files again, but there was nothing to encrypt. So i pressed pay again and i got some kind of error that the Crypto directoy is missing or so.

My PublicKey in the .xml of the file also changed, is there any way now to get my files back?

This is a new one - no solution at this time. Monitor the following topic to stay abreast of future developments:

Suggest you try to re-contact the extortionists, and explain what happened. Unfortunately, there is never a guarantee they will actually get your files decrypted.

I don't believe he paid, there's a known flaw of it decrypting itself.

Restarting is probably the worst thing you could have possibly done I'm afraid. If it started again, it probably wiped the key from memory.

I'll have to dive back into the source on this one to see if there's anything that could be done, or if Jakub Kroustek has any ideas.

Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the TrueCrypter Ransomware (.enc extension) Help & Support Topic. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.
